'World Food Day'

'World Food Day':

World Food day is observed on 16th October every year to tackle global hunger and strive to eradicate hunger across the world. To mark this day, we had a number of events organized live online for the children, caught at home due to the pandemic.

MasterChef Junior competition was organized for class 3rd & 4th which witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 81 children, from both the classes. Little chefs tried their hands in fireless cooking. The objective was to inculcate healthy food habits and awareness regarding the hunger and poverty globally.

Kids with the support of their parents made flavoursome cuisines like chocolate cakes, fruit bowls, curd sandwiches, vegetable cheese sandwiches and many more with just 21 ingredients enlisted in the rules. It was mouthwatering to watch little tots prepare such delectable dishes, which earned them a participation certificate for the same.

Little toddlers of the preprimary section utilized this event and exhibited their skills in preparing “Mohabbat ni Roti” (Chapati prepared with love). It showcased the little ones’ swift adherence to the teachings of our beloved Aqa Maula TUS and their culinary skills.

The toddlers also had an online talk show webinar with a core member of the International Dana Committee from Pune, which thereby made them understand the importance of saving every grain for zero wastage, as per the sayings of Aqa Maula TUS and to have an epiphany of how blessed they are to be born into a mumin’s house.

They had a PowerPoint presentation for the awareness of this day and a skit depicted by the teachers, demonstrating them about the manners of having food. They also created attractive Thank you cards for the person who delivers FMB thali to their place.

The other event that took place was a poster making competition, where the students were quite passionate about preparing posters with vivid ideas and vibrant colours. The objective was to make the students aware and think on the global hunger issues on the World Food Day.

The young learners displayed their artistic skills through an array of posters.

Last but not the least, Inaccessibility of food is a pressing issue and the prevailing pandemic has intensified it further and so to help those in need, food distribution was carried out by the students of our school along with the Anjuman-e-saifee jamaat for those in need in a bit to ward off their hunger.

These events in conjunction had a great impact on the budding minds of our children.
